The Great Falls community is on high alert after Hunter J. Peffers, an inmate at the Great Falls Pre-Release Center, failed to return on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Peffers, who was incarcerated for criminal mischief, did not check in at 11:00 a.m. as required.
Peffers is described as a 26-year-old Caucasian male, six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black polo shirt, tan slacks, and was seen using a walking stick.
The State of Montana Department of Corrections has initiated an extensive search for Peffers. Authorities have urged residents to be cautious and report any sightings or information regarding his whereabouts to local law enforcement immediately.
This incident has raised concerns about security measures at the Great Falls Pre-Release Center. Officials are reviewing procedures to prevent similar occurrences in the future and ensure public safety.
